HELLO!In this post we're gonna see some phrasal verbs with get. I think that Phrasal verbs are very important for learners because they are so prevalent in everyday spoken and informal written language. Not only do learners need to understand the more common phrasal verbs, but they will also need to use them themselves. If they don't, and use a more formal synonym, they run the risk of sounding pompous or ridiculous to native speakers. Imagine, for example, your friend telling you Oh, do desist from talking! instead of Oh, do shut up! or Oh, do belt up! or Oh, do pipe down!
GET UP: Levantar
After i get up, i brush my teeth.
GET ACROSS:esclarecer algo, deixar algo claro, comunicar claramente, fazer-se entendido
He sometimes has trouble getting his meaning across in English.
GET AT: Querer dizer
We weren’t quite sure what she was getting at.
GET AWAY: Escapar, fugir
I’ll get away from work as soon as I can.
GET BY: Se virar
My english is very good, because i got by.
GET OVER: Recuperar-se
I finally got over the flu.
GET BEHIND: Atrasar-se, acumular ( contas, trabalhos, estudos)
Once you get behind with work it's quite hard to catch up again.
GET IN:ENTRAR
Get in the care, we're late.
GET ON: Assim como get in, indica a ação de entrar em algum lugar. A diferença é que get on é usado para lugares onde podemos nos locomover. No caso de veículos, usamos get on para trains (trens), buses (ônibus), subway (metrô), airplanes (aviões), ships (navios). Please, get on the train carefully.
GET ALONG:Dar-se bem com alguémMy sister and i get along very well
